| Skyships Ltd, based near Stansted, specialises in sophisticated
unmanned lighter-than-air airships and exhibition icons.
A varied selection of flying products are available from small
standard design external remote controlled airships for advertising
or camera platform work, to highly sophisticated computer controlled
bespoke designs such as the X-plorites as flown in the Millennium
Dome, London during 2000.
Static products include
air filled icons for exhibition purposes as provided for the
2000 Expo in Hanover, Germany, the Odyssey
in Belfast and the 12m Globe for the Millennium Dome, London.
Additional developments include a stabilised camera platform
for remote controlled airships, tethered aerostats, and unmanned
helicopters.
Currently under development are innovative applications of unmanned
airships and helicopters in low-level aerial surveying of dangerous
structures and land such as minefields.
